100 Days in Deadland by Rachel Aukes

My Rating: 5/5 stars

Short Summary: Cash must transform herself into a skillful fighter if she is to survive the zombie outbreak and protect her friends.

My Review: Another awesome zombie story that had me dreaming I was the fierce female lead, kicking zombie ass.

While I really enjoyed the story, the theme of the book is supposed to revolve around the story of Dante’s Inferno. I understand where the author was going with this idea, but I truly believe the book would have be just as good without it. It also would have been nice to not know about this theme until the very end of the story. Sometimes the theme felt completely out of place.

Other than that, I really did enjoy the story, the characters, and the events. It was hard to put my kindle down when I started reading this one, and there were always scenes that kept me completely unaware of what was coming next. I love to be surprised, so the ending of the story was perfect.

I still wanted to give this book 5 stars, regardless of the underlying theme that I didn’t appreciate as much as I had hoped to. I enjoy a thriller that keeps me up at night finishing it, and gives me nightmares all in the same night.

I recommend this book to you zombie nerds. This was a good read. I was asked to read this by the author.
